Still hot, sunny and dry here. Everything's crispy. A heavy, night-long downpour would be fab. Nothing on the forecast at all though.
Six concerts down, and the next one is a couple of weeks away. All the 'big' ones are done until September (for me - Bow has several on tour). Yesterday's was lovely - playing The Planets to celebrate its centenary in the adult education college where Holst was Director of Music when he wrote it (and where the orchestra rehearses). Joined by the college's chamber choir and opera students, and interspersed with planetary poems by creative writing students, performed by drama students. It might not have worked but it really did.
I'm going to dig up garlic and potatoes today. I'm not hopeful about either, tbh.
Enjoy the rain if you've got any, enjoy the sun if not

Hello Wonky and LG have a soft spot for Holst's Planets since being introduced to them in a drama class at school ... it's tinged with a sense of embarrassment since falling asleep on Imogen Holst's shoulder in the front row at Snape Maltings ... think it was during some Chopin etudes
Dippy eggs and toastie soldiers on their way .... is it just me or is Radio 2 playing Cher's version of Fernando on a loop ... nothing like as good as the original and getting a wee bit tedious now
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
What a hectic life you lead LG! All sounds brilliant though I'm beyond thrilled Wonks. All the hog family came out last night. The little 'uns were bumbling and stumbling about. Very very cute Feel very lazy today. I really should be out splitting pots of lettuce, properly sorting the border in the front garden and suchlike, before stealing myself for the tennis later - if my heart can stand it
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Morning all. You got rain yet Fairy? Started here overnight and drizzling just now. Don't think either man will have much stamina for the tennis final but time will tell.
Morning Joyce- rain hasn't arrived yet, but hopefully soon... I thought you might be down at Turnberry waving your Mexican flag and 'gesturing' at our lovely guest from a cross the pond.....

A 'friendly wave' I'm sure Joyce. just remember - that's more than two fingers you'd need for one of those..... For anyone who doesn't know the truth behind his 'acquisition' of land for his r*ddy golf course up north - here it is. Makes for quite unpleasant reading
Love the way he says that HM explained to him (presumably in words of one syllable) that Brexit is 'a very complex problem' ... my bet is that she went on to say that he shouldn't trouble his head about it and he should just go on and enjoy his golf.
Well, that's the butterfly eggs removed from the PSB for today and our supper casserole of chicken thighs is chuntering in the slow cooker along with onion, carrot, celery, leek and thyme leaves and a splosh of white wine.
Just the beans and sweetcorn to water and a can or three of water to carry round to the clematis in the front, and that's the 'must do' jobs done for today ... the vine weevil nematodes are being introduced to their new home tomorrow
