  • That's interesting!    I will need to check the prices though.  Ocado price-match with Tescos so it was just inside my budget.  The problem came with the £40 min order.  If they dropped it to £25 I'd be back like a shot.

In Which home delivery surveys, Asda have been bottom for every one of the last 10 years .
I've never used Morrisons, but I can recommend Sainsburys. Tesco is a vile company and I'd not give them a penny of my money.
My understanding is that Lidl/Aldi have made it clear they have no intentions of starting home delivery.

  • What's the min-order on Sainsbury's? Although I expect they will be too expensive anyway.   I live on £320 a month so keeping the bills down is a necessity.

  • Wow.  That delivery charge is a bargain!   Problem is the £40 minimum order.   Thanks Hosta!

Sainsbury's are ok for home delivery but we've had problems with them. Jars that don't pass the 'popper' test on the lid, mouldy fruit, meat filled pasta that was in vegetarian packaging, a couple of out of date items. Probably nothing that all supermarkets don't do occasionally though. Just double check everything when it arrives. I prefer Morrison's but they don't seem to sell the fresh stuff I like for delivery so I have to go there. Time it right though and I can fill my boots with reduced items.

I'm also living on a tight budget at the moment but I'm lucky to have a bit of leeway to buy things in bulk if it will save me money in the long term.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Think it's £25 so that might be your best bet ...  :)

Ocado are life savers. Free delivery on Wednesdays and most evenings (by me). The £40 min is a problem for me too but I save up my shopping and do a shop every ten days. I freeze milk etc so it does work out if I'm planning carefully. I also have space to stock pile loo roll, cleaning materials etc if I need to top up and order to make £40. As I don't drink or eat much meat It's not always easy to find enough stuff I want to buy. A good way around of things, I guess. I like the Tesco price-match too. Ocado do send me £10 vouchers regularly, if it turns out Tesco was cheaper on certain items. Also they send vouchers if the drivers are late.

It might just be me but that was confusing!  And it sounds changeable.   I need to have a definite cost to budget for.    I might sign up, order what I normally order and see how much more expensive it is.

    Thanks Dove.
