    I remember a customer talking a salesman in Cargo ( are they still going?) He wanted a sofa "£200 plus £30 delivery. "
    " I'll give you £200 and bring my own van to store to collect it" 
    " no you have to pay delivery"
    " so why not just say it's £230?
    " because it's £200 and the £30 is a delivery charge"
    " but I don't want it delivered , or do you expect me to pay you to deliver it to your own store?"
    It went on for some time. No sale was made and neither customer nor salesman were happy.

    OMG, I've just switched on the news on BBC1 " Melania Trump and Philip May visit a hospital" 
    Are we now supposed to be thrilled at the spouse of a politician turning up?

    More traditional gardening grumbles.  If I had one horticultural wish to be granted it would be to say goodbye to slugs FOREVER!  :#

    Came out this morning to see buds hanging off dahlias where slugs have chewed through.  Not to mention the lamium and agastache which have been torn to shreds.

    "I think they're called 'marketing gerunds'."

    I hate that they are pure nonsense. A truly descriptive marketing gerund such as "Moving the Crap you don't Really Want from A to B" would be fine. Rubbish such as "Delivering the Future"  or "Finding your Happy" makes my teeth hurt.

    Were they filmed with patients in comas? I can't think they'd find any others that wouldn't tell them to eff off.

    I mean Philip May? Really? I don't often feel sorry for The Queen, but she's got to put up with him later.

    There are photos on the press websites of Melania walking on a bowls green in stilettos ... if she did that anywhere near my ex and his bowling pals she'd be lynched  :o
