  • Brilliant!

All I want is something to wash my hair that doesn't give me itchy spots on my scalp. I have been told to avoid shampoos containing something usually referred to by 3 capital letters, trouble is I cannot remember what they are or the order they come in!

    Just keep scratching.

T/Gel is supposed to be good for itchy scalp Joyce.

It does strip your hair of all its natural oils though.

Joyce, get some Argan oil and rub that into your scalp. Although it's an oil, it doesn't make your hair greasy.

@pansyface , I make gentle, SLS-free shampoo. I can send you some to try....

I have a bit of a hard time finding shampoo that works for me that doesn't have SLS or palm oil, so I resorted to making up my own.  I have dry hair and scalp - it's  taken me decades to figure out what works, but I'm there now.

Sorry that this isn't very curmudgeonly.

Is it sage or rosemary that's supposed to be good for your hair? I can't remember.
I do remember that vinegar is a great conditioner, but the downside is, you smell like a chip shop.
