    What a picture @Alisonjayne, she'll break a few hearts I'm sure!

Thank you @fidgetbones and @BobTheGardener for your advice, information and encouragement which gave me the push I needed to get the right tool and tackle my snowberries!  I had a brilliant day yesterday with my new mattock and am looking forward to more hacking and whacking today - just great.

Today I tasted my first ever home grown greengage, bliss!  There are two more on the tree.  I hope in a couple more weeks to be eating my first ever home grown apple, also one of three. I planted the trees four years ago.
One of the three apples fell off today, so we ate it and despite being the size of a golf ball, it was surprisingly sweet and flavoursome.  I polished off the other two greengages.

I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition. — Martha Washington

There are days when I fail miserably but I do try to remember...especially when I come across a miserable old git!

I'm cheerful because on Friday morning I'm going to a highly recommended nursery as I have to drop my son at Stansted. It would be rude not to pop in as it's so near :)

    Thanks.
I'm reminded of something I heard last week: "it's like the pleasure you feel when someone STOPS playing the bagpipes "

I’m thinking now of the story of the proctologist doing his rounds in the hospital and, going to his top pocket for his biro, finds a suppository instead. “Damn,” he says, “some ar$e has my pen.”
