My Joe Pye has just started shooting through the earth. I said "Now? Really'?

Linaria is hands down the source of the buzz right now - beating even borage. The hollyhocks are popular too.

Interestingly, Eucomis seems to be loved by flies and wasps. I don't see a single bee on it.

My borage has finished now. Do you know if it comes back as a perennial? I grew mine from seed this year.

@LeadFarmer Borage is an annual but if happy will self seed around. There is a dwarf borage that is a perennial.

The bees appear quite possessive of the borage. They get cross if I get close to it. They also loved my various thymes last year, and the Icelandic Poppies. All alliums, verbena bornariensis, tithonia (they often seem to take naps on the flowers of these). I think the Allium Sphaerocephalon would win the prize if there were one.

Not bees but in the past week I've seen Hummingbird Hawkmoth in my garden on three occasions feeding on Phlox and Lavender.  Such a great one to see; don't see it every year in my garden.  I wonder if it's an influx year.  Anyone know?
Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

It maybe an influx, I've had one in the garden for the first time.

No doubt it will be put down to global warming.

Thanks Fire, I will look to try and save some seeds from my borage plants.
