I'm enjoying watching the bees on the comfrey plants every time I go to my greenhouse, it certainly attracts them. I've recently Chelsea chopped two of them so I get some more flowers later in the year.
At the moment, the bees love our pyracantha hedge. When the sun is on it (such as now), it's covered. It is doing precisely what we planted it for. 1. Attract the bees to the flowers. 2. Attract the birds to the berries. 3. Delineate the boundary. 4. Deter youths from sitting on the wall. 5. Prevent the postman and other delivery people from taking the shortcut over the fence to next door. 6. Prevent the neighbour's dog from running riot across the garden. 7. Help the environment.
Someone ages ago on this thread posted that buddleja globosa wa good for attracting bees, so I bought one last year and planted it out. Flowered for the first time this year and it is crawling with bees, never had a plant that attracted them like this, with many flowers have more than one bee on them..
This is the first time my privet has flowered, I usually trim the side so I can get to the top of the garde lol but have left it and it is swarming with bees ..
