Dahlias
Got hollyhocks, cosmos and some fragrant roses nearby and the place is buzzing.

Eryngium planum. The honeybees turned up for it at first and now the bumblebees have taken over. It's had a few Gatekeeper butterflies on it too.

Wonderful! The bumbles are loving the hollyhocks and there is a frenzy around the linaria, I noticed today.

I was surprised to see that the bumbles continued to fly on Tuesday in the heat, I thought they wouldn't be able to fly in it.

Today the ladies are mostly lunching on Veronicastrum. They particularly like this fasciated flower spike.

That's an incredible photo. I have seen bumblebees on adjoining spikes, but never clustered together like that on one.
My bumbles are loving the scabiosa and this passionflower.

Not many bees around but they do head for the Nepeta or Jasmine
