    Morning all.
BL, you are going to be very busy with baking, cooking etc and family staying plus Open day.  Hope everything goes smoothly.

Lily P, I am going to move pots of lilies to a sheltered corner out of the way of the predicted storm force winds. I'm a bit concerned re the tall trees in the woodland over the fence as I don't like storms when trees are in full leaf.

Obelixx, it's sometimes quite pleasant to have a few days to please yourself as to what you are doing and when you do it.

Hello you latecomers  ;)  I hope you get the weather you want  B)

I want 28C during the day and about 4 hours of rain in the hours of darkness, every day for the next 4 months. Please.
I'm thinking of polytunnel chores where I can shut the door and warm up.
    It's 17C out there. bbbbbrrrrrrrrrrr

23C during the day for me please Hosta ... no more!  and an hour of steady rain overnight a couple of times a week would suit us fine.

Think of all the nocturnal critters who need dry weather to hunt - owls especially don't have waterproof feathers and go hungry in the rain.  Our pond is full Hosta.  Has been for months tho during a brief hot spell it did start to go down quite quickly.  OH donned his waders to remove blanket and duck weed and forgot about the shelf to the deep part.   The waders are still hanging up to dry.

Doggies have been for jabs and I've stocked up on worming and flea and tick stuff for all 4 critters for the next 6 months till pussies go for theirs - 295€!   Having had a cold and therefore cosy indoors winter, Rasta has put on weight.   Should come off easily tho as she's running about like a puppy at the mo and no sign of her arthritic shoulder.

Free now to sow and pot and plant till 5ish.   OH has washed his car and is packing it for the trip. Joyce - I am certainly going to play while he's away.... furniture moving, fabric cupboard re-organisation, painting, garden visits, sewing and, of course, walkies and cuddles for the beasties.

    Interesting PM's question time today.

Well, I'm back after playing two hard sets of tennis  ... I started with a marvellous swerving ace 8- shame I couldn't repeat it rolleyes lol

The knee aches a bit but was stable while I was playing ... I shall take it fairly easy for the rest of the day and keep my fingers very crossed ... the day started dull but now we're getting some lovely sunny spells ... I've watered the runner beans ... I'll check the forecast and see whether I need to water the other veg ......

    Greetings all.

The only rain we've had in the last month was late evening and overnight, 3 days ago.  It was very welcome...

Obelixx, in contrast to your recent experience with your workman, we're waiting for our roofer to send us a bill.  Maybe he's won the lottery, and doesn't need the money?  Usually tradesmen are pretty prompt - though we had a local firm move an old upright piano for us, many moons ago, and despite 2 reminders from us they never sent us a bill.   :)

    Thinking of you today, Chicky.

We've had work done here and the workmen never send a bill, even if you bump into them and ask for one!! Most odd.
I've got the 1 o'clock news on now.
Obs, PM's QT interesting indeed. Whether one voted leave or remain, is there a single person who thinks negotiations are going well?
Don't even start me on Trump's "victory" . What has actually been agreed seems remarkably little when one looks for detail, which doesn't stop Trump singing his own praises as usual.

Quiet here this afternoon, has everyone been gardening? Or is the UK hit by storms and lost Internet?

Did another load of weeding and planting, didn't rain, not too hot, but now my hands are swollen, especially right fingers. Looking forward to next week, no gardening.
