That’s the first time I’ve felt sorry for a mouse. Poor little bedraggled thing. Little venice looks lovely Chicky. Very colourful. we have a family of hares here. Not quite that size though.😏 Clari, your garden looks SO green compared to ours. Well done with the water gesture. We’re off to town shortly to get our annual flu jabs. Isn’t it good that we can do this. Better than coming down with some of those lurgies. sleep well.
Good morning all G'day Pat I've been awake about 40ins thanks to the dawn chorus which now has finished. I've had a quick wander around the garden in a rosy dawn light and now I've brought my cuppa back to bed ... I'll just see what's been going on here and then get my book ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
We are just back from our flu jabs. Sore right arm at the moment. I had a pneumonia one as well. The last one I’m told. So, both arms punctured.
We’ve driven back into our valley and it’s full of smoke! Don’t know where it’s coming from, but the wind is currently from the east. Maybe there’s a fire down the coast. I’ve brought all thevwashing in from the line, but not happy about the smoke smell. 😖
A big rain event is predicted for this weekend. Can’t wait. enjoy your cuppa in bed Dove.
Morning all. Still hot here, until tomorrow anyway.
Good to 'see' you Clari. The garden's looking lovely.
Weeding today, before it gets too hot. Saw three dragonflies over the pond at the weekend - am delighted as I thought it was far too young for anything so exciting.
'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.'
Have a lovely outing BL ... think it was at least that here yesterday I sat in the shade with a book for most of the afternoon and it was salad again for supper.

Good morning all! Hi Pat - and good to see you, Clari
It's a bit fresher this morning, and due to reach only 18C today rather than the 25.9 we had yesterday. A relief since I've been under the weather for a few days, and I don't really "do" heat. The garden is revelling in the warmth though, with seedlings shooting up (and not just the weeds!).
Yay! The scaffolders have arrived. Tomorrow, all being well, our roof repairs should start... and then we can reclaim the spare bedroom/railway room from under its plastic sheeting.
I'm about to walk through the park to the venue for the fortnightly "oldies'" art class - which gives me the opportunity to admire my water-diverting exploits of a week ago. The volunteers had been working in the park, planting a fruit tree & doing some weeding, so I had my spade with me as I walked home. A newly-emerged spring on the hillside was flowing down and flooding the skate park; now it has a new channel (dug by yours truly!) directing the water into an existing stream. Hopefully it's still working... not a permanent solution, but it'll do until someone has time & money to put in a drain. It's great to have an excuse to play with water and mud...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Think we are going on an outing today, sky is blue, but storms are forecast later. Was 28° yesterday.
