Flumpy, did you ever find out if Marion is OK?

Welcome back, Dove, glad you had a good holiday.

I did some gardening this morning, then we took the plane from Limoges. Our usual one from Bergerac is very expensive because it's half term. I think that's a bit mean of them.
We went for a drink in the pub that is walking distance from our future new cottage, have been there before, very pretty, thatched, run by lovely people.

Had Chinese ready meal from Sainsbugs. Why do I bother cooking? Sainsbugs meal was delish. Of course doh-smiley-emoticon no Sainsbugs in France.

Well, there’s no sign of kangaroos trying to drink out of the bird bath today. It’s frozen solid!   Bloomin’ freezing here. But, get this, an early phone call woke us and Hubby was called out to a bushfire. He’s still out there. (Shake of head). I’m wondering which idiot has been lighting up this time.

Morning Pat. I hope Hubby is back soon.
Let my joy be unbridled!!! Not at being awake at 3am, but at my delight at watching a kestrel hover over the garden whilst we were having dinner last night. 6 years we've been here and I've never seen one before. I know their numbers are in huge decline so I was totally thrilled .
2 hours of crazy thunder and lightning last night and torrential rain. Fingers crossed for a topped up lake, and for no plant damage.

Morning all/afties Pat. Hope hubby is fine. He'll be warmer than you are anyway!
Love a kestrel or two Hosta - we get them here now and again along with the buzzards which are very common. I enjoy lying on the grass in late summer [if it's dry] and watching them keening overhead. We've had a couple of birds I can't quite identify, that have been  flying overhead a few times. Don't get a long enough look at them, but I might take a look at the RSPB site and see if I can ID them. They look quite kestrel-y but they definitely aren't those.
Slightly jealous of your thunderstorm - I love those two. We don't get many. Another good day promised so it's G. Etive part 2, and my water is packed.... ;)
Heading off soon, so have a good day all.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Morning all again.
I was awake from 2 - 5.30 and now up for coal face duties. To-day is the first day when we have 4 vans on the road and not 3. Are we expecting it all to go smoothly?

    Good morning all  :)
couldnt switch off last night and
heard the late weather forecast speaking of storms so was out in the garden in my nightie and bare feet after midnight getting the washing in ... it didn't rain here of course  ;)
Hope today isn't too frustrating Hosta  :)
Hope Pats OH is home soon  :)

Morning all. Sun is shining. We will be going out to a lovely pub for lunch.

I slept badly though, kept waking up. Maybe it's excitement as we are going to look at our future new cottage tomorrow, when we last saw it we hadn't made an offer yet.

Awe I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you Lizzie, is it in the countryside? 🙂 And sadly Lizzie we've not heard anything from Marion since March, normally someone gets in touch if it's a problem with her computer, I hope it's not bad news 😔

    Morning all.
Back from a pleasant early morning drive along the coast before the traffic builds up.
Hope the thunderstorms don't affect you down south.
