The 15mm pipe side entry, might give away the fact, it was a home made sand filter !! that blocked up eventually, at 3 bar tap pressure !The copper 15mm pipe is the baffling part !.... but why concrete it to the floor base, in concrete to ??........ The barrel apear to have the bottom cut out, and then set in the concrete base ?.... it there is a hole in the base. It might be a soak away, after some sort of filtration ?/........ is the soil Ph very low under the base, where it was lifted ?? like Ph 2.5 !! ??.......... baffling... 4sure
sand filter is used to filter water, under presure, down to 200microns. Reduces hard water Ph. Are used for koi ponds etc, or for making soft water post filtration. usually aroung 60 to 100ltr vessel. This could be a home made filter..... but cant see an outflow pipe ? just one 15mm inlet pipe ?? also seams to be a 40mm square section steel frame inside the barrel ?/....
Ah well done James! Now it’s broken up it’s obvious what it was. Somewhere to safely store old bits of metal and rubble. Encase then in concrete, job done! 😳
The annoying thing is that I totally agree. I think if anyone here can understand this logic, you may need to speak to someone. But come here first and explain the logic before you do
Ummm, they didn't want to take all their rubbish to the tip so put it all in there and for good measure tipped in a lot of cement they didn't want either? !!!
