I'm wondering how she disguised it during viewings @Fire ?
One of my first questions would've been "What the flip is that thing?" 😨

Don't suppose it was erected to contain a piece of JKW some 40+ years ago .... be afraid ... be very afraid ...

Kitty, I meant that the previous owner said the object was there before she moved in. But sellers do sometimes say that (about dodgy loft conversions etc) so as not to have to explain. Not to malign the old lady. It was just a thought.

It must HAVE a purpose. It can't have been easy to make. If it's covering something, there would have been much easier and less obtrusive ways.

I can't wait to show this to my OH when he gets in from work - he loves a good puzzle! What time DOES James get home from work, anyway? I'm on the edge of my seat!

If it is 45 years old + then it could be older and I'll put money on it being a home made reinforced vent for a deep air raid shelter, perhaps a buried Anderson which has long since rotted away and filled in. We had a buried Anderson and I'm forever digging up rotten bits of corrugated iron.

It doesn't look 45 years old, for sure... more like a five year old Pinterest project gone wrong.

It has a purpose though.. that is an expensive amount of concrete for 'nothing'.

It's too weird not to have a purpose, right?

Lol. My next update will likely be tomorrow morning, so don't be holding your breath for tonight...unless I find something that absolutely HAS to be shared.
