Just watched the Clovelly one. Unusual in that they weren't trying to attract tourists !  I liked the enthusiasm of the young head gardener.
  • I managed to catch the programme tonight and enjoyed it too.  I agree AnniD, the head gardener at the Victorian garden was very enthusiastic - a breath of fresh air.  I remember visiting Clovely many years ago - very touristy but also beautiful and well worth a visit. They had worked wonders last year and deserved the Gold Award for their efforts.

We visited Clovelly many years ago, just a few months after I'd had major knee surgery.  Possibly not the brightest idea we ever had. :D
  • That wasn't a great idea KT53, I hope you didn't suffer too much the next day.  I don't remember seeing any Donkeys taking people down to the bay, but I did have a bumpy jeep ride back up the steep road after our trek down.

Have just watched the Soho Road programme. It's always nice to see the children getting involved. I loved the Sikh temple garden, what a riot of colour!  With all the difficulties they faced, l thought they did really well.
  • I agree AnniD, they didn't have so much local support, but they tried and the children will remember their part in the project - it was after all only their first attempt and they were up against the odds with traffic and a minority vandals. The Sikh was a colourful display which I thought portrayed them very well indeed.

Have just caught up with the Southport one. That herbaceous border was impressive but the Victorian Fernery was a real labour of love. Thank goodness for the volunteers who stop these things being lost forever.

Petworth on Friday - liked the water feature in the school garden. Think l may have found a use for the wheelbarrow when it packs up.The allotment idea was a good one, and the pharmacist had a natty line in suits!

Wisbech - the school garden was very impressive with all the different areas. Love how the children had learnt their presentations and all the plant names. Always heartening when the children are so keen to get involved.
Richmond - certainly very ambitious. Liked the Just the Job project. Bet they didn't catch the low lifes who broke in. Lesson may be not to get too carried away on the first attempt,  like the judge said, it's a learning curve, but l admired their commitment and enthusiasm and they were very close. (Apologies if that's a spoiler). Can't wait to see @josusa47 's moment of fame !  :)
