I really did not like the planting in the Dingle. Far too Victorian/seaside bedding. I'm sure it's possible to do dense planting like that without being garish and tasteless. However, the rest of it was good and the care that went into preparation, planting and maintenance was exceptional.
I do not see how Wednesbury managed a gold. Far too much bare earth and all that knitting! However, huge admiration for their community spirit and ambition.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Oh no, I missed this programme on the 16th - which location were they filming in. Watching Gardeners World is one thing but to be "allowed" to watch 2 gardening programmes in a week - well that is pushing my luck. However I am wondering if they will show any programmes from Guernsey as part of the island is often involved in this competition.
Thanks AnniD - thinking about it more I am quite sure that the local newspaper would have mentioned if/when the programme is set in the Bailiwick of Guernsey (Herm enters the competition too).
Yes - they are on iPlayer. I saw Usk so have the others to catch up on. Usk is only ten miles from me and it always looks gorgeous over Summer. Recommend a trip to the Open Gardens weekend in June. http://www.uskopengardens.com/
I must admit l have enjoyed this series, the effort put in by the volunteers is to be applauded, particularly the Grimsby team. They were up against it from the start.
