Just offered yesterday to pot up a load of plants for a local charity and it hasn't stopped raining, quite heavy at times too. What is it they say, "no good deed goes unpunished"? :D

farming Bro says that his specialist forecast is warning of nasty rainstorms in the southeast for Sunday and Monday
and the Met Office adds "it may be cold enough to produce some snow on high ground".  They obviously didn't realise the Bank Holiday isn't until a week on Monday.

Met weather warning for south and east of England on Monday, heavy rain and 60mph gusts. Excellent, haven’t had the garden battered by adverse weather for nearly a week now. I’m going to have to take out a loan for tree surgeons and fence repairs at this rate!

Dry and cold and very windy.  We did have a downpour this morning but short-lived.   Not inviting and I have to go out and water all the treasures.  Best wrap up then.

The French do May Day on the 1st of May.  Forecast so far is dry but cool which is fine for going to a plant fair.   Sunday is looking very wet but that's OK, OH will cope after all those years playing golf in Belgium....

Wet and cold all day today here.  The forecast for Harrogate for tomorrow isn't wonderful - cold, wet and windy most of the day; I'm going to the Harrogate spring flower show, so I'll need some extra layers, I think!

Stockton on Tees, Misty to start although the sun is popping in and out. A bit of a cold breeze although warm to me 9-10C  B). Outlook sunny.
Liriodendron, I never missed the Great Yorkshire show for years and when in Harrogate my wife never walked passed Betty's it was a magnet drawing her in she forced me to eat fat Rascal's and eat sandwiches with the crusts cut off? for goodness sake it is the best bit of the bread.

  • We've had 20 hours of rain here, so my water butts are nicely topped up. Horrendous rain and gales forecast for the next two days, so won't be doing much gardening!
