Dreadfull

Haven't visited for a while, thought i'd been diverted to a completely different website / forum at first!

I thought this forum had deteriorated last year and couldn't possibly get any worse.  I was wrong.  Fed up of chasing what i want to click on arround the screen as ever more and more adverts apear all over the place.  But of course you end up clicking on an advert by mistake which is what we are now expected to do.   Money money money money.

Too many dvertisements drive visitors away you know!?   I'm gone............

Virtually no adverts on my page ... if you really can't get the hang of things read the instructions Nora has written to help newcomers to the site ... most of us are thoroughly enjoying the new improved forum ... a few teething problems but Nora and the team are on the case ... but if you don't like it don't bother ... it's not compulsory and I'm sure there's something out there somewhere to suit you ...it might even have an automatic spellcheck .....  ;)

As someone who detests change I was surprised how easy I found it to negotiate.

It's not a compulsory forum.  Those who don't like it or are too lazy or too pi-headed to work out what's where should just slip quietly away if they can't bring themselves to read info or ask politely for help.

    Ad-block
  • I wonder in what way it has deteriorated? I joined in February and love it.You get so much information and help. It's so nice that the very experienced gardeners don't look down on us lesser ones, who are keen to learn. They are so knowledgeable, and seem happy to pass it on.

  • i never went to school until i was 34 and i'm still struggling with my grammer and spelling.  don't think i'll ever master there's theres, theirs and so on etc and so forth.  I entered the uk with nothing other than what i was carrying in my pockets with absolutely no education after having walked half way around the world.

Adverts apear after topic listings have displayed, i'm about to click on a topic and it moves because an advert appears moving everything about, so frustrating.  Navigating the forum is easy enough if things stop getting moved about by adverts, logos and oversized avatars etc.

Apologies for my bad spelling and gramer, i'm an idiot without an education, seriously i am, not joking

we don't care about spelling. You don't need to be educated to be intelligent or a good gardener
Install an adblocker, I have no adverts on my page. A lot of sites complain about adblocker, money is made from advertising, but until advertisers learn manners and stop throwing things in my face I will keep the adblocker

I know what you're talking about CC but I don't have that problem on this site - as everyone has said, download an ad blocker There are sites that you can't access with it turned on (and it's easy to turn off for specific sites, so that's not an issue), but this isn't one of them. I don't get ads at all and the page stays beautifully still.  :)
