Last year I bought a Melopospermum peloponnesiacum  , planted it and it disappeared a couple of months later. Well it survived. Something resembling a shaving brush has come up, and growing at a rate of a couple of inches a day.  It should resemble  a large umbellifer with ferny leaves. Described as striped hemlock, it also says young leaves can be eaten in salad. I don't think I will be partaking.

    Happy Friday everyone  :D

Lots of rain in the forecast, but I have much pricking out and potting on to do, so looks like it might be a GH sort of weekend.

Littlest Chicklet loved the mushroom/lentil slices and the roasted veggies Obxx - and has taken all the recipes back with her for inspiration this term - thanks for the tips

I have been trying to read back to the beginning of April, because I’ve missed some and can’t remember half of what I wanted to comment on. I managed to get as far as page 26, but can’t keep sitting here until page 120.🧐 will have another go later.
The knitted cardigan arrived in Melbourne safely yesterday and I have a photo of Olive with it on. It’s a bit big, but they are very pleased with it.
Getting back to my reading - Obelixx, I really like the idea of comparison photos in the garden, think I’ll try it myself.
Liri, lovely stream that you are planning to plant with little flowers. Would like a photo when it all comes good.
lilyp, love the stories about Talla’s visits to hospital patients.
I cut my Chervil yesterday and put heaps of it in the drying machine. It’s still looking sprightly.
Ive moved the tub into a sunnier position to see how it goes now that our nights have cooled down.
We had another afternoon in our back paddock yesterday and while Hubby was spraying the Serated Tussock, I wandered around and found a couple of places where the kangaroos/wombats had lifted the fence from next door. I filled the spaces with dry branches, but I know it won’t stop them for long.

Good morning.  Grey start and cool and a bit damp judging by Minstrel's coat when she came in for her early morning cuddle.  Dry now tho and OH is out there raking up the long grass he's strimmed in what will become my mini arboretum.  Not a collection, just trees and shrubs I fancy to break up the space and help attract or shelter wildlife.

Pottering in the annex this morning.  The chaps who did the PVs and ventilation heating have been amazingly clean and neat so h****work put off for another day while I sort out cupboards and find somewhere for OH to keep my DIY tools as he refuses to have them in the Cave on teh grounds he has to go outside and unlock a door to get them.  Not that he will ever get to do DIY indoors.  That's my domain!   Negotiations will continue.

Potting this pm and pondering garden plans.   Keep having "good ideas".

Glad Chicklet liked some of the recipes.  The roasted peppers are a winner too and the fennel with goat's cheese and sun dried toms.    Not long before she's back for the summer.  Possum is due to travel here for a week at the end of May but we've booked her TGV ticket on a day that's set for one of the rolling strikes so may have to move it a day later.

Pat - lots of photos needed to help appreciate developments and record changes.   Your paddock work looks quite labour intensive.   Must do something with our fences soon as the line between us and the paddock is barely held up by rotting chestnut stakes.

I hope your new shift system works out well Hosta.   Must go and get on so excuse me for just wishing the entire gang a great day.

    Morning all.
Sun, blue sky and bird song.
Obelixx, try to get your OH to watch Beechgrove this week. Allotment bit will be inspiring for him, I think!

Informative would be better Joyce.  He's still not allowed to plant things as they tend to curl up.  He's still not allowed to talk to my treasures after what he said to a clematis once.  He managed to make a Montana develop wilt!
