I do camera to computer and pics were able to be seen.

Sorry, Joyce, but I had trouble with the ones on the garden gallery.

Imgur has no info on me any more than this site, google or any other site. I cant see the problem but its a personal choice. Depends on what info you give them. Amazon, facebook, all websites and social media are doing it. We just have to be careful with what info we give imo. If we use the internet they get info. They sell it. Sad fact but imgur is no worse than others.

Something which has started to happen to me when trying to view "photo heavy" threads is getting a RELOAD message. The page shuts down and shows this...

As a side note to Nora, I forgot to switch over to Firefox, and put this pic on through Silk.
    Yay, it's working again 🎉😁.

    All loaded but slowly.

There are some discussions where the pictures load much more slowly for me (e.g. the Work in Progress discussion), and they're presumably gobbling up my monthly gigatrite allowance, so I'd vote for some limit on maximum size.

What's the issue with resizing images automatically? It can't be beyond the wit of a good programmer these days surely?

We put one on our site, but Nora says it can’t and never can be done on this site.

If it can't be done, then it can't be done. If you want the max participation in the forum then apply a size restriction and be done with it. 640x480 used to be big enough and probably still is. Here's one I prepared earlier at that size. Looks alright on my screen

That looks ok on my screen too @stuart.dot - and it loaded instantly - and I can expand it without losing too much resolution.

But - yikes - is that your garden??? If so - hope everything is ok.  :)

Fortunately, Topbird, that's my allotment shed, which floods regularly. The actual plot is slightly uphill from there, and looks fine so far.   :)

I'm sure both my camera, and laptop may be able to used to reduce sizes, but I've no idea how, and no inclination to bother trying.
For years I couldn't  add photos at all, so I'm keeping my head down as all seems good to me.
I have no pearls of wisdom to offer anyone else though. sorry
    Devon.
