While the forum was down I was trying to fly from SW France (16°) to Stansted in the snow and drive to Norfolk. Spent a night at a hotel because the plane was late. Made it, luckily, there was more snow after we got here.

Judging by the scales at weightwatchers I spent most of the time eating. :/

Oh dear, Yvie, was it comfort eating?

Cor, its been a long time, there was an ahem "discussion" going on, I was berated by one, stood up for by another, was about to reply, had heard from a previous member, you get "struck off" so thought it must have happened to me! Have to say, I dont like the new look.  Did gardening, sowed seeds, Hubby started putting up new fence, pruned, tidied up garden in general.Made the most of each warm or dry day, held up of course, out there by snow or rain occasional frost.  Def going to try the ginger flapjacks, Lirio, do you use the basic mix then add grated or dry ginger?  I have been making cakes as usual for Hubby to take to work, looking after grandkids.  Happy Mothers Day out there, Hubies Birthday 14th so we went out for meal last night Younget daughter and her bloke, she bought me a lovelly girly tea pot, 2 cups and saucers, lots of pink roses, going to christen one now!

NB,I'm sorry about your "discussion" , I missed it and am certainly not prying. es to move on.
I have to say, you're the first to say they're not keen on the new forum. I think it's great. I like the " recent discussions" telling us how many new posts there are and the going straight to last unread post. The quotes thing is much better as is posting photos.
May I ask why you're not so keen?

I'm in the eating, reading, crafting camp I'm afraid.
There wasn't even all that much reading... :/
My excuse is that I'm still, after nearly three weeks, feeling the weakening effects of (real) flu. My gardening efforts were in a strictly supervisory (leaning on a rake like a proper workie) capacity. I barely had the energy to point and say "over there"!
Thankfully I'm well on the mend and since a lot of the clearing has been done I now have spaces to fill with the many orphans kicking about in pots!! Woo Hoo! Little tooting man emoji. (Oh how I miss him. I'd no idea I was so happy till they took him away!  :(  )
Iain (AB) run away from that flu and keep running. It's a stinker!!!

@Nanny Beach, my ginger flapjack happened accidentally.  I had 4 lumps of stem ginger in syrup which had officially "expired" (by about 2 years!), so I chopped them small, and added them to the butter & sugar with 3 tbs golden syrup and 1 tb syrup from the ginger jar.  Recipe otherwise as usual.
Strangely, the ginger flavour has increased the longer we've kept them.   :)
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Hope you are better Plant Pauper, I have a friend who gets "flu" at least once a moth in autumn and winter.  Do you have a jab, it makes the damn thing a bit less horrible

Thanks NB. I'm back in work after two and a half weeks and I'm all over the place. Think I'll take it easy for a day or two.
