Hubby did all our kitchen cupboards too. I think, on balance, I'd rather he got the bug for cake and biscuit baking.

I made a banana gingerbread last week in time to mature for 3 days before OH took some to golf.   His partner had to retire with back trouble but took his slice with him.  Just had a mail to say it helped his back get better.  Daft apeth.

Need to think about what to make for patchwork on Monday.

Trying to Photograph birds in the snowy garden, making soup. Trying & now failing not to catch the flu/cold from my OH. I did sow some Onion, calabrese  and sweet pepper seed into the propagator on Tuesday after the snow  had finally gone & the sun was trying to come out.
Oh and I took some curtains to the specialist dry cleaners & applied for my Pension.

  • Big wave to whoever posted the link to the Charles Dowding videos. I have binged watched them all during the break..some more than once. I have a small patch that is now going to get the Dowding "no dig" treatment. Can't wait to see how it works out.

@floraltips, can you share that link again? I'd love to have a look at them.

  • I'm in South Wales too Aunty Rach! The last bit of snow went yesterday but it's still hanging about on the mountains.

I've spent the "down days" tidying up everywhere, the bird table fell over and smashed to smithereens,so had to make temporary feeding areas, but now have a lot more birds coming to the garden, hunger forced them in I think.
I bought two new Clematis, which I kept sheltered in the porch during the snow in,hopefully they can go in now.

  • @Hostafan1 I just Google Charles Dowding now because I couldn't find the original linking post again. Loads on youtube. Hope this helps.

I was chief cook and beer supplier whilst my new garden fences went up.
Then I sat back and watched as a new ceiling went in my upstairs hallway, my oldest boys room painted, hall, stairs, landing and dining room painted and my lounge redone.
when I wasn’t watching the hard work being done I was online looking at new rugs, cushions and then plants.
