Mine are on their first prove. We're out tomorrow morning until mid pm at least so I may well leave them till tomorrow pm to have all rest of the ingredients added or else do a Dove and bung it in the fridge to save time tomorrow pm.
The weather is now delivering according to forecast so very wet and windy and hail occasionally. Lovely.
Forgot to say Liri - pleased your lights are all sorted now and trust everything else is OK too. Our new leccy (25 yrs ago but new to the house) in the Belgian house was installed by a chap with very odd ideas about circuitry so when we had two new bedrooms and an attic converted out of a former hayloft the new leccy man had the devil's own job sorting it out but, once he'd done, I could have the oven, grill and microwave on all at once with out blowing the main fuse. Great improvement.

I made hot cross buns earlier in the week, as I was making bread and had all the gubbins out and the oven on. Go for the saffron @Dovefromabove. I do. Love it
Hope you're doing OK Punkdoc.
I'm just about recovered now from flu. OH says if I go to London on the train again I have to wear a full bio-hazard suit - 2 weeks lost for work for both of us and we're only just getting back to normal now, nearly 3 weeks on. So much for the flu jab I am so far behind in the garden now but it's still raining so it'll just have to be a soggy mess for a bit longer.

Hiya folks, home again. The garden wasn't half as bad as former client thought it was. I pruned her clematis , roses and hydrangeas. Avoided all the showers, had a lovely catch up, a really nice meal at the local pub, finished off this morning and drove through some horrendous showers to get home. 3 hours sleep last night, so feeling rubbish. I think I might catchup on telly this afternoon. Hosta hugs to you Punkdoc.
heavy rain, sleet and snow here this morning, snow has settled on the Moors. Next couple of nights will be freezing temps again, hope the tadpoles will be ok, they were all swimming around in buckets and bowls in the GH so had to go back out.
The Cornish love their saffron buns and of course the pasty 🥟🥟🥟

Hmmmm ... tried a different recipe ... not sure why ... and I doubled it up so there'll be some to take down to Wonky at the weekend (along with some heirloom tomato seeds for her new friends at work and some sticks of rhubarb)
I have checked my figures ... I did all the doubling up accurately but ended up with a sort of soup and had to put a load more flour into the mix ... hope it all turns out all right in the end ... the dough looks fine and it's on its first proving ... in a couple of hours I'll knock it back, turn it into buns, put them on baking trays and put them in the fridge overnight under damp tea towels ... then tomorrow morning they'll just need an hour to come up to room temperature before I put their crosses on and bake them
The thing is, with all that I totally forgot to add the saffron ... it's steeping in a little pot of water ... I'll make some more in a couple of days so I'll use the saffron water then.
