Good morning.   Sunny, contrary to forecast so after the PO I shall go and potter a while and then think about hot cross buns as there will be none on sale here.   This time last year I had all sorts of seedlings to pot on and grow on - mostly veggies - and then had to water daily because of the drought.  Did not get huge crops of sweetcorn and squashes.

This year it's actually been cold and wet and I have sown nothing yet but I expect they'll catch up quickly when it does warm up.   Spud planting on Saturday cos we're out tomorrow and then seed sowing.

I never use smilies.  Words do it for me.   I can see all the ones you chaps have posted and no wee boxes.

Have a lovely day whatever you're doing.

    Morning all.
My plug plants have just arrived  That smiley comes from another site, I wonder if it will show here.
It will be a busy day today potting in the GH, but I have to go to the Open Gardens meeting this afternoon, taking my friend in the village who opens her garden too.

I didn't post yesterday because Daughter 2 ( the one we called Possum) rang and asked me to spend the day with her and the children. They live about 1h 20mins away. The children have Wednesday afternoons off school. We had a good day, played card games, took GD to her tennis lesson and daughter and I had a good chat while the children watched TV. It poured with rain all day. Daughter has got really into gardening, like her sister since they bought their new houses.

Good to see Topbird here. We are in Norfolk the 2nd half of April. Hope we have time to meet then.

    Morning everyone - hi Pat!

That's a great emoji, BL!  I miss a few in the selection we're given (above the box I'm writing in), like the embarrassed face and the green sicky one.  Found I could easily download them - bit of a faff but worth it, I think.  I've been able to see everyone else's smileys, wherever they've got them from...

Well, after another day running up & down stairs and taking light fittings to bits, the electrician finally found the source of the problem, and every light now has the requisite live/neutral/earth, all doing what they're supposed to do.  So that's a relief!  It's just the bill to come now...   :o

Happy gardening, those who've got the sun!   B)

Punkdoc, hope the world soon becomes a nicer place for you.

I did.  Very logical.  Cold sweat comes up under D but not C!

    Morning all.
Frost has gone and sun is shining.
Busy, it's good to see the green fingered gene has been passed on :)
Liri, the electrical work has been a bit of a hassle. Are you off to the island soon?

The rain has arrived.  Just in time for OH who has nipped out to buy eggs so I can start off some HX buns.  He'll be so pleased.   Trying Paul Hollywood's recipe this year.  He puts fresh apple in.   We'll see.

More sewing for me today then.  If I can get my patchwork group homework done I'll be free to garden all next week by which time I trust we'll be having some warmer sunny spells.

It's clouding over here ... probably because I've hung some washing out  :confounded:

I've made some lentil and tomato soup for lunch and will start the hot cross buns later ... the plan is to leave the dough in the fridge overnight so I can bake them tomorrow morning ... I'm toying with the idea of including some saffron like the Cornish Saffron Buns ......
