Hello Lilyp  :) I'm very sheltered where I am. We are in a dip with a south facing walled garden so couldn't get more snug really! But I'm afraid I always sow my seeds in the early spring in the greenhouse, I'm not organised enough to do it in autumn and they would probably die of cold and neglect over winter if I did.  :/ so my flowers are usually around late May/June and onwards  :)

Daughter arrived at 10am, having left home at 6. I now have four vases of flowers :)
She has just left for home.
LP. she said there was a lot of tree felling going on on the A70.  Do you think this is in preparation for some, much needed, road widening?

The restaurant was lovely, good for a birthday treat. www.theobaldsrestaurant.co.uk/
We didn't do the 2 hour walk as it started raining, not hard but enough to make it less fun, so when the path started getting muddy we turned back, so it was 35 minutes instead. Forgot my camera so no photos. I expect we'll do the walk another time when the weather is better.

Going for drinks with neighbours later.

Joyce I have heard the chain saws all day but sadly I fear it won’t be for road widening
Did you know back in the 30s, around the time the castle was demolished a plan was put forward to take the road up round the village   Sadly they went straight through it instead. I doubt it will ever happen now.

wonky thanks for  sweet pea advice. I have inky dine ince from seed and they were rather pathetic. Maybe I should try again.

Busy lunch sounds as if it was good, despite the rain

    Evening all.
Home from the coal face. Mothering Sunday gifts delivered to a few delighted customers and one miserable cow ( no wonder her kids didn't visit in person )
When I popped home for lunch , Hubby pointed out that Mathew Bourne's Swan Lake is coming to Plymouth in September. 2 seats about 4 rows from the front , smack bang in the middle of the row have duly been booked. That'll do for us.

    Hi all
Very envious of all you who have already started on your gardens .....still a very thick blanket of snow here ....Pat , very interested about the SPs planted on St.Pats day ?
Speaking of which we got our invite to The Irish Embassy for the annual 'knees up' on the 17th. Unfortunately we won't be in Moscow but will be here for the very popular Emerald Ball on the 24th ....a major fund raiser for local orphanages .....have visited many and come away very disturbed indeed  :'(
