tesssagardenbarmy - it's in Newark, nottinghamshire.
  • I went to Dove Cottage Garden near Halifax yesterday. It has a very good nursery which was rather busy, with the small car park being rather crowded, but nobody went into the garden while I was there! Coincidentally, it was shown on the Great British Garden Revival on the Together channel on the same day - it had Carol Klein drooling! I came away with a number of perennials.

It's about 10 miles from me, @Alan Clark2 in Liverpool - a really gorgeous garden full of perennials...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

  • While staying with family near York last week, we paid a visit to "Breezy Knees" - as described on the previous page.  It's quite a new garden - shelter belt planted in the 1990s, but garden proper started in 2006 - but you wouldn't know it because it seems quite established, with lots of interest.  The path leading to the garden "proper" is planted with a varied selection of rabbit-proof plants because they claim to hold the national collection of rabbits!  Then there's a deer - and - rabbit fence, and inside that, individual areas are rabbit fenced.  There's also a pretty good cafe... cake recommended.  :)

Plenty of colour, and not just in the "September garden"

    The "Hedge Henge" is fun!

Funnily enough I was thinking about Breezy Knees today - l  bought a helianthus Capenoch Star from there a few years ago, and it's putting on a lovely show. Must admit l did love Breezy Knees, and what a great name for a garden !
