Most people voted, in the Brexit referendum, on gut feeling.........no facts, figures or understanding of what the outcome would be.

No, it isn't. Compare these two:

    1. Mike is stupid.

    2. Mike did a stupid thing.

In the first, Mike is the object that is stupid, in the second, it is his act that is the stupid thing.

And Germany planned to invade Sweden, we know this, but due to hard decisions by the people in charge, it was stopped. And it is a bit rich coming from you that you say others are milking you. Have you ever considered giving back what you have stolen? We  give far more than you, yet have stolen far less.

I know that we managed to live without the EU, but that was when we did have trade deals set up and we did have an empire to exploit.

And don't forget that during those days, Asian countries was not rapidly moving towards being really strong economies (especially after a certain idiot in a western country decided to pull out of the Pan-Pacific Trade Union).

  • Please folks ............ Brexit has caused problems on this forum before ........ let's learn from experience ... we won't agree about it so there's no point in trying to convince each other of the right of either side on here ... it's not the right place ... there are plenty of other forums where politics can be discussed.

Let's get on with sorting seeds .............

  • Money is easy to count.

    Some things are priceless.

We may differ on some of the things in the second category.

Some personal opinions can be changed by better understanding. Think of plastic, once a wonder material, now being seen as a threat...  .

We can't change history,  we can learn from it, but only if we see it clearly for what it was.

"Oh Dear" Buttercupdays you are where we once were, wondering why we should be connected to Europe, we had lost India in 1947 when we ran away and left them to it then we ditched the rest of the Empire to crawl on our hands and knees into Europe which a lot of us at the time thought a very bad idea, where we proved wrong, time will tell as it will with Brexit. My family had relatives in New Zealand who were dumped in a very unceremonious way and left to their own devices, we got the letters stained with tears as all they had known went under the bus. They made it through and prospered without us making new and better markets to such an extent they will trade with us but on their terms as will many up and coming Countries looking for new markets, a void will always get filled. Our own Farmers will fill part of the gap by increasing yield which will send the Green party into apoplexy, your milk will be sold at the correct price and our eggs will become free range again instead of European Battery hens which we banned. "I think" or did we. We will survive and prosper as Europe left to its own devices begins to fail and that is happening now. Poland up in arms about the Laws, Greece and its failing economy because of Euro restrictions, Italy on the verge and the East europeans wanting a larger slice of the pot. Germany seeing change in its outlook and Government, France wanting more say on how it is run Spain fighting its own battles and a general chaos seemingly descending on Europe or is it?

You will not starve you will not cut the anchor ropes and float away because Europe needs us which is why they are fighting at every turn for a hard brexit which they know they will never get. If we were not important to them they would wave us goodby and turn their backs.

    Frank.

Good that you realised that being correctly corrected by a swede, is a bit embaressing due to english being your first language and my third.

Perhaps you should ask Norway and Denmark, instead of a swede that question?

PS We are not the same country, swedes sailed east. Svealand, is on the east coast of todays Sweden.
