Yes, Joyce, Council tax is payable on holiday homes, but OH pays the English bill and I pay the French one.

Freezing out there, cold wind, plant pots are frozen, just fed the horses.

It's been an odd day here, weatherwise. Cold forecast, same as everyone else. But due to be cloudy and dull, whereas we've had snow (enough for a light covering) then absolutely brilliant sunshine. The blue skies were such that you couldn't imagine it ever snowing again... and five minutes later the sky was heavy with snow, starting to settle... then clear blue skies and sunshine again. On and off, all day, with quite sudden changes from one to the other. It can't have got much above freezing though - the saucer of water I poured for the birds froze almost straight away.

So what's the sensible thing to do in such weather? Why, get on with building the pond, of course!

We've actually had a lovely, productive day outside. There were some structural bits and pieces to do, and some tamping and picking out of little stones etc. The sand for sculpting and padding arrived this afternoon so there was a lot of barrowing round to the back (I'd ordered a load of gravel and excess sand to use on future projects too). Most of the sand is in, the liner awaits, so if it's not all covered in 6 inches of snow tomorrow it's all stations go image. It's quite small, really. Well, very small.

I've just read about the forum shutdown starting on Thursday - glad I didn't miss that post.

OH's eye is slightly better and so is mine, thank you Dove. The surgeon told me to take Ibuprofen for mine so that has helped arthritis too and my chronic tendonitis shoulder.

Quiet here tonight, didn't think it was a good TV night.

    Hi all.

Hope you are not going to be too disappointed in me, but I have to go away for a while.

Stay well and for those that are believers, I could maybe do with a little help.
