Beginning to think Joyce should collect commission for the turmeric sales! image

Just been to collect an ex navy wrens storage trunk on freecycle, very shabby chic, planning a vintage stall at a market for a clear out next month, it will go perfectly and hopefully sell for a few bob to the trendy folk!!

Night Pat hope the turmeric starts helping image

Afternoon all.  Been out doing the weekly SM raid which turned out expensive cos I said  I needed a new kettle.  We've found one with an Obxx proof lid - no stupid spring clip - that looks like an old whistling hob kettle.   Then, on the way to pet food, he stopped at the seed potato display trap.  We now have seed Charlotte, seed Bintjes and banana shallots to plant.  Fine with shallots but we really don't eat that many spuds.  I prefer sweet potato or rice or pasta.

Vet this pm - pussies need their annual jabs and Cosmos needs his paws checked cos another is looking scabby.  He surely can't be that accident prone.

Pat - that woman needs her license revoked.  Repeated speeding should, at the very least, lead to a re-education course before she gets her permit back and driving with a detached retina is just cretinous.

Clari and WW - good luck with the job hunting. You both deserve better.

Joyce - turmeric working well for me tho after an hour of jive and samba last night I did have the odd twinge on the way home.  I shall up my dose.

Hosta - I read important instructions thoroughly - kitchen equipment, sewing machines and such but am more cavalier with other stuff.   Never buying flat pack again.

OH has just shouted at me for washing a teeny white pot he'd left in the kitchen with water in.  It had teeny white plastic thingies for his new ears that he was soaking.  Told him not to put white in white and maybe use the bathroom, not the kitchen, for his bits.

Stay safe and warm everyone but enjoy yourselves, whatever you're doing.

  • Back from weekly raid on W'rose and everything put away.

Steam coming out of my ears at Jeremy Vine on R2 (nothing unusual there then)  talking about Walk On girls and the objectification of women ... JV and the speakers are criticising the young women who do the job .image ........ it's not what it says about the women who do the job ........ it's what it says about the men who think it's acceptable to pay pretty young women to walk about in skimpy clothing in order to 'decorate' what are predominently male activities.  ....... but as usual it's the women who are getting the blame .... that's just as valid as saying that it's women who are to blame for prostitution  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

  • Just popped in to say a quick hello such a lovely afternoon I'm off to the beach cafe for a cup of tea piece of cake and a look at the sea for a few hours.

Looking back you all seem to be in reasonable order so no comment, enjoy the rest of your day everyone.

Dove - JV has always seemed to me to be a huge pr*tt and now we learn he's an excessively overpaid pr*tt!   Can't bear him.

HHog - enjoy your cake and tea.   Sea not far from here but no cake that I'd want to eat.  It's either tarts or horrors made with layers of Genoese sponge which I find rubbery even when I make it.  Atlantic coast, Vendée in case you're wondering.

Back from vets with kitties full of jabs, new flea treatments for both as the old wasn't working on Cosmos and more potion for his paws.   He's either got very sensitive paws or he's got an underlying problem such as FIV.  Needs keeping an eye on either way.
