We'll be there the week before the Spring Bank Holiday Yvie ... we'll probably pass each other en route .
It won't be long until we're eating crumbles ...
This crown of Timperley Early is too big to fit under the forcing pot or even under a big plastic trug, so it's out in the open this year, but it's already full of promise .............
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Probably Dove, we have to go down during school hols as First and Secondborn are both teachers.
Changed my mind about the garden. Wrapped up warm and tidied a bit more. A few more sessions and it'll be ready for spring. Lots of new growth out there already.
Quite a few crocus out here Joyce, must take the camera out next time I'm in the garden.
Just heard about all the snow in Paris. Northern France sounds bad, stay safe our forkers over there.
we dont get many cold callers Dove, they take one look at our hill and pass us by ?
day 2 of turmeric.!
been down the valley and got all my plug plants. OH chosen his potatoes and then we had a yummy lunch all home made. Can’t recommend the Clyde Valley garden centres highly enough Fab plants locally sourced and the best home made fare
Joyce, Do you accept pms? we have only had serious problems once this year and that was well documented. I will give you a weather check tho. Hope it is ok as I am heading to the big city for a lunch that has been written in stone since November!

Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” A A Milne
Good thing you didn't slam the door in his face, Dove...
I've been told I sound very suspicious when answering the phone. This is because we get so many cold calls (and yes, we're signed up to the telephone preference service) that I mentally sigh when the phone rings AGAIN. Then I have to apologise to my daughter, or whoever...
It's now raining, but I had a lovely morning in the park with 7 other volunteers. We had a load of 4 cubic metres of mushroom compost ordered, to spread in the area we are next going to plant up following the removal of the rhododendrons. (The park got Sudden Oak Death, Phytophthora ramorum, a couple of years ago - it's killed a number of beech and larch trees, but its main host plant is rhododendron so all the Victorian shrubberies have been cleared, leaving lots of empty spaces.) Anyway, the juicy stuff had been delivered by the time we all arrived; it turned out to be a steaming heap of 8 cubic metres of not very well rotted manure... most of which had been dumped on a public path. We've spread it where there's nothing to be damaged by it, and stacked the rest in an out-of-the-way corner to mature.
Should we complain to the supplier? Maybe not... since the manure would have been more expensive than mushroom compost, and we got twice as much as we ordered. The plants won't come to any harm for a few weeks, heeled in out of the frost. We went home reeking somewhat, and I got stopped by 3 separate dog-walkers wondering why their animals were so interested in the short old woman carrying a shovel and mattock...

Wonky that sounds barbaric they way you are being treated , how can this be allowed to happen in this day and age , I thought we had problems here
I am thinking of trying out the turmeric myself but as I am allergy prone I am doing some more research on the side-effects .

I told them to go away.
Then I heard someone else at the door ...................... it was OH

So, where has my rhubarb crown gone then!!!
Hello all!
