    Morning all.

Getting fed up with my cold. Bunged nose, aching face and coughing wakes me up in the night. But it's not really a bad cold, just ordinary, nothing like the lurgy I had last year and the previous one that turned into bronchitis. Nothing like what some of you are putting up with. I was freezing cold at 3am, put on nightie, cardi and socks and an extra cover on the bed.

Worried about OH last night, when he went to choir practice it started to snow, but needn't have worried, the snow stopped and he was home at 11pm.

Watched the French news on French TV last night. Lots about the weather and the snow in the north. They didn't grit the main roads around the Paris area and people went out in their cars, needed to work, without taking precautions, such as snow socks, winter tyres. Then the snow came down, can be very fast as I found out once when I was stuck on the A20 near Limoges. So the cars that couldn't move were stuck there in the rush hour traffic, blocking the roads for everyone else and the rescuers. It was solid lines of blocked cars in the snow. Then near Paris people decided to walk, one man on the news said 10kms, so they just left the cars on the roads. The rescuers are gradually removing the cars, there won't be fines for collecting them. Does the UK get in such a mess when it snows?

Bright and sunny outside but perishing cold.  H****work this morning.  The bright sun makes the windows look a mess after all the rain but also means I can't clean them.  How sad.

Pat - Have you ever thought you may be in the wrong climate?   Fans and aircon to cool you or just lie back and soak it up and do more active things in the cooler hours?

Hosta - hope your girls got away safely and enjoy their trips.

WW - sounds grim.  I hope you get signed off for more and maybe, tho I know it goes against the grain, resign and sign on?  At least you'd get your stamp paid and help to find a new position.

Glenys - turmeric is an anti-inflammatory amongst other things.  Been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine.  Google around for some decent supplies but make sure they contain bioprene which is comes from black pepper and helps with absorption of the active ingredient.   Leonidas for me but they have to be crunchy or praline, not soft centred.  I also love little Milka choc eggs.

Firelily - rant away.  It's allowed on this thread and you'll find sympathy here too.   I take it a pacemaker would be of no help but surely something could settle your rhythms a bit.

Lovely promise in those snowdrops Dove.

DL - why are you up so late/early.  Is it cos your BH is away?

Busy - is everyone working to the same colour theme for your patches?

Hello to all I've missed.  Hope it's a good day for you all.

Obelixx. Too late to change retirement climate now.imageimage

i suppose I should stop complaining about the heat. This year has very much tougher than usual.

(Climate change?).  Or maybe it’s to be expected more with each birthday.

I know, but perhaps just changing your hours a bit would help.  Maybe a siesta in a cool, darkened room to get thru the hottest part of the day?

Busy - have you seen RG's thread on cut flowers?  I suggested she have a chat with you.

Thanks for welcoming me back folks.  It's lovely to see all the little signs of spring. That ladybird looks nice and comfy Dove.  I've really enjoyed getting back out in the garden, but it's so cold today that I don't think I'll be venturing out there.

I've just took advantage of the discount and booked my tickets for Gardener's World Live in Birmingham.  Haven't been for a couple of years so looking forward to it.  When are you next off to Cornwall Dove?  I'm going down to Polperro at the end of May with the rest of the family we've booked a couple of cottages so keeping fingers crossed for a bit of good weather.
