The red rose is a cheap unnamed rose bought last year in wilkos for £2.
It has a lovely scent and the petals are almost velvet in appearance

They are Mortimer Sackler, David Austin roses.  They are the roses in my avatar.  Smell gorgeous, flower for ages and no thorns.  Perfect for an arch.

Oh I am swooning over the peonies, Chicky and Yvie! Very atmospheric photos, Chicky.

Lovely photos - I keep forgetting to visit this thread so there's always a lot to catch up on. Dove, that close up flower is fantastic too. I need to go back and note its name (codonopsis, I think?).

Sussexsun I have a red rose exactly like that one. It was here when we moved in, though we didn't discover it under the overgrowth for some time. It's an extraordinary colour and texture, though photos never do it justice:

I agree about Bartzella. I had eight flowers on my three year old this year. It replaced molly the witch. The flowers seem to last longer. Chickys Molly looks a lot better than mine ever did.
