    @Perki beautiful pictures.   That tall exotic looking flower is amazing. .....can't think of the name. ....Monty had them on Friday night's GW too. ....he said they only last about 2 weeks .

    Crown imperial fritillaria, they do look quite exotic. I have about 6 but they are all different sizes for some unknown reason  :/  , the tallest one is nearly 4ft and the smallest around 18inch. I do have a few problems growing them here because they require very good drainage, so mine have been plant with lots of sand, the slugs good mad for them and lily beetle. I don't like the smell of them either.

    We planted over 500 bulbs first year and another 500 the second, that was 11 years ago
    we remember our bachache well!
    sweeping drive now covered in weeds and most of the gravel needing replaced after the winter. Never have sweeping drive envy!!!

    None of the houses in the photo were there when we moved in, it broke my heart 
    however I found a safe conscience free place for leylandi and they are doing well!

    Still lovely LilyP - another couple of feet and the hedge will hide the houses, but still leave you the view of the hills  :)
