Poor Obs, you certainly don't need that to deal with.

I'm tempted to try to swap the music from my iPod, onto Hubby's today.Last minute I know, but my battery is playing up and he has tons of storage left on his so he's said I can have it.

    Happy New Year.

Tipping with rain, waiting for the storm, Hurricane Carmen, that has already hit poor Obelixx. Wind forecast to be 110kms an hour 45 minutes ago, but it's still fairly calm.

Came back from Daughter 1 yesterday. We had a good time and were very well fed. Grandsons (x 3) presents were successful. Went out for a couple of lovely walks when it wasn't raining. They live near Poitiers.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Hi all.

Did see New year in after all, woke up about 23.00, so as OH was awake, we went down stairs, shared champagne and peanuts and watched Jools  Holland.

Done my flower count and just eaten a sausage sandwich, so all is well with the world.

Have a safe journey and a wonderful holiday, Hosta.

Happy New Year punkdoc, glad you were able to see it in and a sausage sandwich and a flower count sounds like the perfect way to start the year.

We had waffles, bacon and maple syrup. Yum.

We *always* go for a walk on NYD but none of us seems to have summoned up the energy. I'm the only one who has ventured outside at all, and that was for the flower count, which didn't take long. Only two of us are even dressed so I think it's multiple episodes of Sherlock and soup made from turkey stock instead.

    Sleep well Pat.

Hurricane Carmen is here and is now overstaying her welcome.  We've had thunder, lightning and downpours but also some extraordinary winds.   Bits of garage roof gone flying - large corrugated iron sheets! and the wooden bird table has now been completely smashed against the well and the green shade netting has separated from the polytunnel and two of the compost bins look drunk and there's a leak in the annex where one bit of roof meets another and that's just what we can see from indoors...

However, the newly cleared pond is starting to look full and the rain should, finally, have softened the earth enough for me to plant some of the treasures we brought form Belgium as well as the new bulbs acquired this autumn......   Nearly broke my wrist trying to plant them when I bought them.

I hope your hatches are battened Busy and DD.

Have enjoyed the NY concert whilst cutting out a fleece gilet for OH who wants a warm "body" for golf.  I shall sew it this pm whilst listening to Stephen Fry or maybe some music.

I hope you're all having a restful day, especially those who have to go to work tomorrow and those fighting off naughty bugs.

Gosh Obxx that sounds pretty extreme. Stay indoors and avoid flying debris! I hope it looks worse than it really is and the storm abates soon. It would be great to see the pond looking full though.
