Yes LP. There's a new thread started already. We have winds gusting up to 90mph so I shall stay tucked up indoors and assume any flower brave enough to show its face will have been blasted to smithers - or still be there tomorrow.
Good morning everyone. Hope the year has started well. It's very noisy here - gales outside and occasional lashings of rain against windows and shutter and OH has Lord of the Rings on very loud. I'm off to sew then.
Hosta - get some sleep! Or can you catch up on the plane? At least you won't have jet lag when you land.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

What? No waiting till 12th night? OH won't let me touch ours before then and he has no golf planned before the 9th so I can't sneak in while he's not looking..

I'm just off the phone to the AA. My poor wee van appears to have no clutch.
"with you withing an hour" I've been told. Fingers crossed.
Obs, unfortunately I virtually never sleep on a plane, no matter how tired I am. Added to that, OH fast asleep beside me for hours on end, flying isn't a fave of mine.
Very breezy here but , for now, dry with sunny intervals.
Hope you’ve got a good book Hosta .....my salvation on long flights (.....well, any flight actually ). Got a few on the go at the moment, but one is a very good one about Head Gardeners ....fascinating.
Just woken up - once taxi duties were over we got to bed about 2.30 . But littlest Chicklet was very grateful.
No touching decs til Twelfth Night here either ....my rules, not anyone elses. And since its me who packs them all away anyway, I don’t get much opposition.
Wonder whether today will be the day the gasman cometh? We are on tanked gas ( with telemetry, so Calor know how much we have left). They let our tank run dry on Dec 28th ....when we rang they told us they knew we had run out and would send a fuel tanker in 48 hours. Impressed, NOT . And they still haven’t appeared. They don’t know we have enough wood burners to keep the house warm and the water hot (although it would be good to get the cooker back - the barbecue has been called into action). Time to change suppliers methinks.
Best get that dressing gown on and go count flowers ???
That happened to us one Xmas Chicky. Our oil suppliers miscalculated and left us with too little in a 5000 litre tank so the heating and hot water died at 2am on Boxing Day. They didn't respond on their emergency line so I called a local chap (same oil but independent who came later that day but wanted paying on the spot. Meanwhile, the contracted suppliers weren't interested in changing their direct debit till I said, fine. Terminate the contract. That made them sit up and be very nice.
Thunder and lightning now, very dark and part of the garage roof has blown off and the wooden bird table has been smashed up. Clear up tomorrow I think.

Wow!!!
A little different to around here (E.Lincs) ; calm & cool but with cloudless skies .
As forum members are scattered far & wide , it would be interesting to keep regular postings on the local weather situations
Let's hope all our plants thrive this year as well as last .
Good Morning all and welcome 2018.
Heavy rain here so a New Year's Day walk, and even flower count, are doubtful. OH in work so may take the chance to de-Christmas the house.
Have a good day all.

Nowt much to do today except pack.
Might even try for a siesta later.
Happy new Year to all.
Dry and sunny here.
Have a lovely holiday Hosta.
Itching to complete the garden tidy up before the bulbs put on more growth. Maybe next week when it's forecast to be dry.
