Poor Wonky ... she was a deprived child ... we never had Christmas Decorations up until the 22nd Dec n our house while she was growing up because it's her big brother's birthday on the 22nd. Now she's in charge she get her decorations up as soon as is decent ... I'm sure that if she thought the cats would leave them alone she'd have her tree up 52 weeks a year

When I was little my mum would leave them up until my birthday, Jan 12th, then she would light the candle on it, real ones, and turn the light out. I can see it now. ?

Truth is Dove that I find the world so depressing, and mental at the moment that I retreat into things that make me happy. Which in turn makes me happy and hopefully I then have the emotional energy to fight the BS and spread a little joy to others. Christmas trees make me happy!
I think that's a lovely idea Lyn, do you think I can keep mine up til my birthday at easter and cover it in choccy eggs?

The Rudolphs were made from Tunnocks tea cakes, curly wurlies for antlers,, white choc for eyes and smarties! Got it from a friend who got it off the net! And they went down very well with the book club ladies!!

Iamweedy, this is the first year I have and a real tree for similar reasons only cats not children! A sensible alternative and beautifully decorated!

Oh Hogweed - I think that's a 'greater than the sum of its parts' scenario right there ? Who knew a Tunnock's could be bettered!
