Ok, I’ll tell you a macabre story from here a couple of months ago, without going into too much detail, they had to keep the brain of our friends dad for more tests, so they released the body, keeping the brain. When the family asked if they were finished with it, they said yes and they could collect. There it was, intact in a box.

No question of them cremating it first. .

  • Info and FAQs about donating your body for medical science here

If your body has been used for organ donation it's unlikely to be accepted by a medical school for research ... there's info on what to do on the link.

  • Obelixx ... the first suggestion is from a very well respected cook and food blogger

"...It sounds very MasterChef-fy - flavoured gels to garnish dishes and that sort of thing.

I wonder if a small quantity would be good in a seafood mousse...."

Pat and anyone who is interested - http://www.gardenersworld.com/forum/talkback/gardening-jokes/77998.html

In France, since January, all French citizens are organ donors. If you don't want to be then you have to enrol on a National Rejection Register.

Thanks BusyL.  The funny I received today wasn’t a garden joke so I won’t put it on. Still laughing though.

Time for bed here. Early start to drive to Canberra for Hubby’s  med appt.

Dove - I don't think I'm a flavoured gels sort of cook.  It is home-made and came from someone who likes his food and is a good Belgian cook so gourmet/gourmand in inclination.

Excellent Pdoc.  She must have had fun.

OH built one at the end of our drive in Belgium, many years ago now.  He gave it an old ski hat to wear.

Somebody nicked it and we were most affronted until we saw said ski hat going back and forth on the head of a chap on his moped.  Clearly his need was greater than the snowman's.

Don't think I'm a flavoured gels sort of cook either  image  (happy  to eat them tho')... nor Sue who made the suggestion.  Her idea of a fish mousse does appeal tho' ... and what about in a gazpacho?
