Quoting Punk in case anyone missed this last night!
Glad you're pottering around; and feeling more positive. It takes a while to adjust but once you stop fighting what you used to be able to do hopefully each day you'll learn to surprise yourself with what you can do each day.
Well that's what the motivational posts says anyway. As for me - I say don't do anything too silly (or be prepared to spend the next day recovering if you do).
Glad for you pundoc, keep it up. I dont make Christmas cake or puddings. My Mother-in-law used to make 2 cakes every year, one for each of us, mine with marzipan and fancy icing, hubbies, fruit and glaze, I would still have some left a whole year later, they were HUGE, ridiculous! Brother-in-law eventually told her he didnt want one, all hell broke loose, so in the end, I had a small slice and then took it to work. None of my kids or grandkids who come at Christmas likes either, or mince pies,, so I buy a tiny good quality pudding, and the 2 of us share it.
Two hours gentle gardening sounds like progress, punkdoc, not long ago you were in bed.
I don't make Christmas cake or pudding anymore, did when the family lived at home. I just buy a small pudding at the church Christmas fair.
Dove said "get my ears lowered". Are you having plastic surgery Dove?
We arrived at our Norfolk cottage last night, via Sainsbury's. The boiler was a bit slow to start, but it did eventually so we had heating and hot water, but this morning it packed up. Waiting for the boiler man, said he was coming at 10am but he's now late. We are going out to lunch with friends at midday.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Misty start today but the sun has broken thru and we should get to 15C. OH has gone out to do a bit of golf practice. Perfick for me to go out to sow seeds in pots and trays for over-wintering. Watching PMs questions while I eat my lunchtime sandwich but I suspect it's bad for my digestion. They should all be forced to sit and watch themselves for a whole day and then 2 days if they re-offend with their stupid braying and baying.
Great you're warm and have a good sleep Hosta. Don't forget to get some exercise to make you tired again.
Pdoc - well done. Gently does it.
Busy - hope chappy turned up in time for you to get your lunch and be cosy this evening.
Dove - hope your ears are straight now.
Joyce - sorry it's mis up your way. Have you seed catalogues to peruse?
Hi to everyone else. Hope it's a good day for you.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Hello again ... there was a change of plan and proper h*wk happened this morning, including cleaning under and behind the sofa and buffing the parquet ... a chap is coming on Friday to clean said sofa and stairs and landing carpet. He's the former Director of Music of the Band of Dragoon Guards and did his sofa-cleaning-training at Windsor Castle, so I thought I'd better move the dust around a bit before he arrives
Hosta, glad all is going well ... enjoy ((hugs))
BL ... hope the heating is soon back up and running.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Well, I wouldn't call it spotless, but at least the parquet is gleaming a bit and the bookshelves don't have dust on them
Have you had a lot of rain Joyce? I've not been following the weather reports other than to know that here in the east we've got a yellow weather warning for high winds.

Out for coffee this afternoon at a place a few miles out of town.
Farmers' fields flooded and water streaming down the roads from the high ground.
Dove, a spotless house now?
