Obelixx re the dressmaking blog ... Earlier in the blog she says the attack was five years ago in a beautiful country far from home ... I presume she was 'travelling'.

    Morning all.

Baffled by the Mugabe thing here too, Joyce.

Dacha, that concert looks great. Lovely way to celebrate.

Soggy and a bit breezy here, but nothing to comment on (yet) really.

Hope you've had a good time, Pat.

And good morning punkdoc. Hope today is a better day.

    Hi all.

    Home for the weekend.

Lots of pillows plumped up on the bed and the weekend papers to read.

Hope you all have a good one.

Happy Trafalgar Day image  Its also my birthday ???. I like Saturday birthdays very much indeed.  Quiet day today sheltering from Brian, with maybe a quick trip to town to get me a new suitcase for  ??  (20 more sleeps LilyP ???).  Then a meal out tonight, and a trip to Stourhead tomorrow to see if Brian has left any autumn colourimage  Birthday pressie from sisters and co is National Trust membership.  Never been a member before.

Glad you’re home Pdoc - take it easy.  And pleased that LilyP’s op went well - be gentle with yourself too.

Has anyone been blown away by the wind yet today? Hope not. Batten hatches and all that.

Wet, and weird black sky with sun here recently. Looked a bit thundery when I got up, but it's a bit steadier now. Need more tea...

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Morning all again.

Punkdoc, take it easy and don't get stressed by the papers.

Happy Birthday Chicky. Enjoy Stourhead, one of my faves.

We used to have NT membership and used to vary routes to and from places to fit in as many as we could.

Local ones ( to you ,not me anymore ) not to miss. Uppark near Petersfield, Polesdon Lacey near Bookham and Petworth.

    Devon.

Thanks Fairy and Hosta.  Great ?? to have NT recommendations too - one of the advantages of an empty nest is we can just take off on a whim image

Have a lovely day all of you ... not sure what I'm doing ... a little light floor sweeping ... filling of washing machine ... prepping of supper ... then I might  get on with my library book and/or watch some racing on TV ... there's some amazing horses running today .... but if I do that I'll have to remember to record Simon Russell Beale reading Philip Pullman's new book on Radio 4 this afternoon http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b099tf53

There's a lot to be said for a Saturday home alone image
