  • GWRS your greenhouse looks prepared for winter. Do you store some tender plants in there?

I will be putting down sand as well to level it off. It has been tricky trying to level the soil in the state it was in.

Hope you have all had a great Christmas. I have finally got back to the allotment after a few weeks and I am getting stuck in.

The small greenhouse is bolted into position and ready to go. Now I am laying the rest of the flags down for the other greenhouses.

It is all go. I am taking a day (yes, in this horrible weather) to kick the backside out of it and make some progress.

I am currently on my break at work writing down notes for a journal. This will hopefully be my bible and guidance through my first year

    Hello , Happy New Year

how many other greenhouse are you putting up ?

Are you having solid floors for them ? Mine has slabs down the middle with weed matting either side covered a thick layer of 10 ml stones for drainage

All of the above gwrs. My dad is filling in the gaps on the flags whilst I am putting in the glass. Just discovered numerous pieces have been broken and that I am unsure of what glass goes on which greenhouse!? I am sure it will all be ok. What ever I am short of I will buy. There is a few places nearby just need to check prices.

So in total I will have 3 greenhouses up.

I will phone up a farm tomorrow to enquire about manure and I will try and get some cardboard from Aldi to lay down on most of the soil due to the amount of nettles and ivy that had to be pulled up.

I am also trying to get hold of some old scaffolding boards. It is all go but i am enjoying it. Sometimes I wish I had more time but i am not panicking yet. It is still winter.

  • I think I have new Zealand flatworms too. I can't load another picture currently but it looks like some alien creatureimage

When we put  our greenhouse up in the winter and it helped to warm the rubber beading on radiators in the house before fitting them

Greenhouse glass is I believe a standard size

Best of luck with it image

  • I am struggling to post photos on the mobile site. Anyone else finding it difficult?

I have been wanting to show a picture of a new Zealand flat worm and all the manure I shiftedimage

  • I missed the last few instalments of this, you have made alot of progress!
