  • I'm wondering has something happened to Floss. It seems a bit drastic to delete his account so it must be something serious. Maybe he's been hacked. That happened to @Hazel 1

Maw an' the wean browsing in the garden today.

Maw just after 9 a.m. this morning. She was munching rotten windfall apples.

And the wean doing the same this evening.

They have both developed their dark winter coat now making them a bit harder to spot on a dull day.

I'm trying out a new lighting rig for macro photography but it's a bit of a bad time of year to go looking for interesting bugs. I found a raft of springtails floating around the waterbutt though so they've been rescued in exchange for some modelling work. They're so tiny and active that it's hard to even get them in focus but this rig is showing potential. The last pic shows how dark it is without lighting at this time of year.

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Thanks. I really want to try more of the reflection type photos but they're very hard to set up. I've got a new fast, wide angle lens arriving this week though so I'll probably end up playing about with that instead :#

Lovely tiny critters, them Collembola! Quite hard to photograph, though. You managed quite well.

You're getting great use from your camera these days, w.edges. The lighting makes a huge difference.
Not really very wild wildlfie, but the blackies have been enjoying the apples over the last few weeks here

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
