My 'new' thrush was in having some grub later in the morning
once she figured how to get down off the bench....
I then had a nice new visitor. They're around in the nearby fields, but not had one in the garden before. He was very happy, getting stuck into the apples and the food
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Thrush tastic. The fieldfares turn up here in the autumn and strip the rowan trees bare then disappear. I've never been able to tempt one onto the garden
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
I used to live round the corner from where I am now, w'edges, and we used to get loads of thrushes. There was a big area of grass they colonised, in August especially, and they were regular visitors. This is the first one I've seen in this garden - been here nearly six years. She started visiting in late autumn, enjoying some of the sloes on the blackthorn hedge, and she's now ventured into the back garden for more food. Keeping my fingers crossed she'll come back with some pals My sister was saying she hasn't seen any in her garden for years - she's over on the dark side, nearer Edinburgh. I think the covering of snow helped bring the fieldfare in. Hope he pops back now and again too.

Lovely bullfinch too w.edges. We have them around here, but not had them in the garden. Don't think mine was in today - the men were here all day working on the wall, but the fieldfare was in just before they started, and a whole wad of blackies were lurking, hoping to get a bit of nosh. They love the apples and sultanas. The ground's so frozen that they'll be needing plenty. Have to keep defrosting the pond for them too.

Thrushes are scarce here too now, very sad, though i've heard one and it has visited a couple of times. But love the photos @Fairy and WE. Fairy yours looks like they are inspecting your hellebore.
We occasionally get Fieldfare and Redwings seem to come together. But only when the weather is bad.
