Hope everyone had a nice evening. I took your advice Joyce, I've planned nothing but Pottering all weekend!

  • Morning all .....

I had a rare sleepless night mainly due to worrying about my daughter her OH and our GD who are in Disney resort in Orlando for another week......Disney and all the other parks have just announced that they are shutting up shop for the next few days ......very rare .....looks like Irma will now run straight up the Floridian peninsula .So sad to see all the destruction and suffering this hurricane has left in its wake already , thoughts and prayers to allimage

On a brighter note .....Fairy , yes that Himalayas one was amazing , the Rockies 1st episode was also spectacular image

Good to see you Wonky - glad you're feeling a bit better this morning image

Watched GW last nght, and decided that more than 5minutes in the company of Helen Dillon would drive me over the edgeimage.  But loved seeing Bressinghamimage

Off to the shops today with littlest Chicklet - bits and pieces for Uni before she goes next weekend.  Coffee and cake might feature too ☕️?image

    Morning all.

Another 8 hours sleep. I could happily get used to it.

Wonky, I do remember Dove saying she was stopping off on the way home. tsk @ self.

    Chucking it down here again.

Am I the only person who hopes Irma hits Trumps Floriday resort? I OBVIOUSLY don't want anyone hurt, but if Mr "Climate change is a chinese conspiracy", sees his own property destroyed, maybe he'll see sense. Or he'll just call it "fake news"

Moi aussi Hosta. He needs a right wind up his trump to make him see sense, although I doubt it would change anything  image

Of course - hoping no one else suffers, especially your family and friends, Dacha and chicky, although I think there's no doubt there will be catastrophic damage to properties and businesses. We just don't care for that orange megalomaniac...

Sun here now too BL. Sorry Hostie - but we needed it as well. It's only for today though.

You really must watch that prog. I'm going to download the Rockies one Dacha. I remember flying over them en route to my relations in Canada. My little wings wouldn't manage it now though...image

chciky - murder would be done if I had to spend any time with that wumman. She's a right royal pain in the doodahs, isn't she? I saw her on a prog she did (in Ireland) with Diarmuid, where they visited gardens of 'ordinary' folk, commented on them, and then picked the best one. It was a lovely programme - apart from her...image

Enjoy your coffee and cake image

Corbett has passed me by now Wonks. It'll still be there another day though. As the saying goes - the trick is to make sure I am too image

Pottering's good - it's what I intend doing too. There are plenty of jobs to see to,  including more pond stuff, but I will try and sit down and just 'look' as well...

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I've just read that only 34% of people in Miami have flood insurance!!

They live in an area prone to hurricanes and storm surges for flips sake!!

    What's wrong with these people?

    See original post

Hosta if you factor into that , ~20% of people in Miami/ Dade live below the poverty line , so those poor people don't even know what insurance is let alone afford it .......that would mean the 34% total you mention is of those who can possibly afford it which  would make it look like ~27% of the overall total, bonkersimage

    Can't afford it, probably Hosta.

Helen Dillon on GW image. I try not to be too impatient with the whole 'gardening TV for people who don't really want to garden' thing. But why was I watching her tell Monty what a wonderful garden he has? There was very little actual information in that whole section, apart from a vague theory on why his meconopsis aren't thriving. (To which I know the answer, btw. "Well they don't. Wrong plant wrong place"). It was just a load of mutual gushing image

    Meh

Sorry chaps, been a horrible week. Hope all the rellies in the path of Irma are OK. With that and Bangladesh (both problems) and the Yemen, the news is all a bit grim so I feel petty being so caught up in my own little troubles just now image. Ho hum - maybe next week will bring some better news. Or at least better weather.

Wonky - hope it's a restful weekend. Hosta, well done for getting some decent kip. Punkdoc hope you're finding some direction with your newly found half brother. Clari - are you feeling better?

Everyone else - have a restful and productive weekend image
