Good morning. Grey here and cool. I've had to put on jeans! I too have missed any signs of Chicky sponsoring but hope all the preps have done the trick and the walk goes well.
Like AuntyR I was up early but because of an absence of kitten. No Cosmos snuggling or butting or making hungry noises so I went to look for him. Perisher was out patrolling early and then had hysterics for about an hour with me in the middle, back in bed. Finally got up again to investigate squeaking. Minstrel has clearly decided he needs mothering too and brought him a live shrew which she left in the bath and then came to me for cuddles. I also found Cosmos in the bath, just looking at it trying to climb up the sides. It is now free.
Sewing for me today. Off to the Loire valley for 3 days with Possum next week to explore chateaux so on a mission to get things done as I'm driving her back to Namur on the 10th.
Busy - hope your BBQ goes well.
Pat - that bridge looks hazardous.
Not looking autumnal here but some plants are definitely drying up their leaves a bit early - magnolia, tree peony - cos of the drought.
Off to catch up properly now. Have a good TGIF everyone.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
I'm watching Michael Portillo. He is doing the north western line in Scotland. I keep thinking about Fairy, Joyce and Lilyp. I think I've got my bearing right?
Forecast 10mm of rain for this morning. We've had 2 drops, literally. I'm off to chuck out all the tomato plants which are now past it. Had good crops tho. Best ever for us and no blight in sight.

Didn't they even stay for lunch? Hope they have a good holiday.
Grey and cool here too, I'm also wearing jeans. I don't want rain until the 3 tablecloths that I'd forgotten to wash are dry, and I don't want rain tomorrow either. Have dealt with the marinating of the meat, same as the Gardener's Club, chicken Tandoori, Lemon and Thyme Chicken and honey and mustard pork. There are also burgers and herb sausages. Now I only have one BBQ, once I had 3, I'll cook the chicken and sausages in the kitchen. Next to do is start preparing salads.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
That all sounds very tasty. I hope it stays dry. Don't really want rain here either tomorrow as we're off on a day out at the seaside - well, lunch at the minimum. Tourists should all have gone home in time for school starting so we're off to explore for new restaurants.
Doing BBQ corn cobs and belly pork for dinner with a spicy salsa.

Pat, Fairy walks up north and wants to retire to the north west.
I'm SW coast and LP an hour inland from me.
Oh thanks Joyce.
Dove and OH have just left.
I miss them already.
Have a fabulous time in Cornwall. xx
That was short and sweet!

Sounds wonderful, Dove. Hope you find somewhere good.
Just took the tablecloths, they were dry, off the line before the rain started.
