I heard the Rosellas calling out to me so I walked down to the feeder. Before I'd even reached the path there were about 12 of them mobbing around getting stuck into it. The cold must be getting to them.
I actually found my double jonquil today as well as some snow flakes.
Morning all/afties Pat -glad you're a bit better, and the winds are easing
The horse chestnuts all look beautiful here just now chicky - golden and red. Your world does sound so much better than the other world!
doc - you can't sum up your life in a few lines, so don't try. Write what you feel - then review it - several times. Without the whisky - definitely
If he's half way decent - he'll understand that it's an enormous task.
Off for a look round before I go out into the manky wet, windy day. Where's all the good stuff we usually getatthis time of year? Grrrr.. Have a good day everyone.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Doc do you have to sum up your whole life does the other guy know anything about you? I do write letters, I have friends who have moved away we write regularly to each other, the only thing I have learnt, you cant put passion, sympathy, whatever into the written word so easliy, you write something someone takes it the wrong way, its difficult to explain that what they interpreted, isnt what you actually said, plus of course once its written, and sent thats its.
Good morning all Thinking of Wonky's lovely hub who has close family in Antigua ... Hope things aren't too grim for them.
Pdoc ... You can't sum up your whole life ... It would take a book ... Just a few sentences to give a flavour ... Just a couple of things to say what makes you tick ... You may give more of yourself later, or you may not. remember you're talking to a stranger, related or not, and these things are a two way process and he must give of himself too, otherwise you become vulnerable. You build a relationship by sharing. ((Hugs))
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Waiting for new Virgin TV box to be delivered as o/h out this morning , a few jobs around the house then cut front lawn I think , perhaps driving range this afternoon , the joy of retirement
Gave up last night and just drank the Whisky instead, much easier and more pleasant.
Decidedly chilly outside, not inspired to go into the garden, I might brave Sheffield, to try and find some books for Sicilian trip.
Thanks for all your advice, very helpful. It is funny, if you asked 6 gardeners an opinion on a garden issue, you would get at least 6 answers, but reassuringly you all had the same idea on this subject.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
I've a feeling you're a bit of an all or nothing sort of a guy Pdoc. So am I, but I am learning , bit by bit, that there is a middle way and sometimes it's the best way ... Only sometimes mind you

Pdoc, I don't know how your step brother made contact but sometimes it's easier to talk to someone than to put it in writing. A short phone call would give you some idea if you want to make further contact.

PunkDoc , best of luck with whatever you do ?
Morning all.
More showers this morning and heavy rain forecast for tomorrow so I'm hoping to get out on the lake again today.
