Dacha ... It's carnival weekend , nothing out of the ordinary appears to have happened. Difficult to phrase that when an alleged rape is being investigated ... But that is what has happened and suddenly the town has gone into lockdown and rumours of all sorts of stuff including violence and stabbings are circulating on social media but the police say no such incidents have been reported. It all seems to have coincided with the arrival of a group of travellers ... tp the best of my recollection travellers turn up every year, in association with the fairground which is a major part of the carnivals in Cromer and Sheringham every year. There's always an increased police presence and nothing seems to have happened this year other than hysteria and panic fuelled by gossip on social media.

The Eastern Daily Press website gives a calm appraisal of the situation.

    Morning all.

    Dry, sunny and no windimage

Don't do Facebook etc but hate the way stories seem to get twisted and exaggerated on such sites.

Pat, glad there was no wind damage.

Me too Joyce. If there was a tree down we would've had to leave it until we are healthier. It does seem to be taking a long time, but we WERE  warned it would take a long time, so can't expect anything else.

    Pat, it's very frustrating.

I remember many of us were like that last year with the "lurgy". Took us weeks to get back to normal.

It seems such a waste of our days, Joyce. There are always jobs waiting to be attended to on the property, so it really does frustrate us. Never mind, we just have to get through it. no point in complaining
