I looked at the date on this one of a Peacock. Exactly three years ago. It was a much warmer summer that year

That's an interesting way to compare seasons, Fairy. They are beautiful. Thanks.

Can I have some of your sun please GWRS? The clouds and rain have appeared - just when I've hung out the washing...image

I tend to take photos fairly regularly Pat - and you're right, it means you have a bit of a comparison year on year with plants and wildlife etc. I suppose I'm quite aware of the weather too, as it's important for my other hobby! image

Plantpauper, hope your hands dont start hurting its a royal pain! To take your mind off it, if you fancy revisiting your honeymoon here's the recipe image

    Rice and peas

    400g rice, I use basmati

1 400g can of gungo peas, Sainsburys sell these in world food aisle or any halal shop.

    1400g can of coconut milk

    1 red chilli

    2 cloves of garlic

    Large sprig of fresh thyme

    1 large onion diced

    500ml stock

    Method

Crushed garlic, onion, chilli in a pan, sauté. Add can of coconut milk, stock, rice, gungo peas and thyme, simmer on very low heat, storing occasionally until all liquid has been absorbed by the rice.

Clari, hope you manage to stay germ free! Have you considered putting OH in quarantine?!

I'll give that a go thanks Wonky. And if you could have the little old lady bring it to me on the beach too that would be even better. image image

My lazy morning livened up ... my dodgy knee felt quite stiff after all of yesterday's shopping so I decided I need to start increasing my exercise before our holiday ... all those Cornish hills image ... so we've been for a proper walk ... just a short one ... half an hour along the Donkey Track through the woodland and past the chalk mines and then around the back edge of the golf course and back home ... it's a good route to start with image

Wonky ... I can smell that curry goat from here. image   If anyone can't get hold of goat meat and they want to make curry goat, I've found NZ lamb is a good alternative.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
