Fairy, I havent actually moved back into my art/craft room because it is so cold in there and since the living areas are warmed by the fire, it seems silly to turn on electric heating. The temperature in the morning is about 3-5 degrees.  In the meantime, I sit on the lounge chair and play with little projects that I can balance on my knees. image Not conducive to proper sketching etc.   It won't be long though the way the days are warming up.

Morning all, afternoon Pat, image sorry for absence, hands are really bad lately so resting them as much as possible when not working. Sorry your not feeling yourself Fairy, hope you feel better soon!

Lovely day with Dove yesterday! image fully kitted out for wet weather now! Thank you Dove! Xx Dove has also knitted the most fabulous jumpers and hats for me since the foot incident and I'm happy to take anyone's bad weather as I'm prepared for anything! image

Spent yesterday evening marinading two goat legs in spices and a massive amount of chicken, now two Curry's are made and were cooking over night! image just have to make rice and peas and that's much less for me to do in the evenings after work!

Love to all, hope you all have a lovely Sunday!

Lovely to hear from you Wonky. I hope your hands recover. Hubby had RSI (carpal tunnel) some years ago and had surgery when we lived in Melbourne. It's has been successful. Rather an extreme choice, but I thought I should tell that it was (has been) a success. image

Hey Wonky!! Sorry to hear about your digits: everything else is sounding great however :)

Did anyone try to stay up to watch the meteors last night? I tried for a while but saw nothing.

OH has a cold, he thinks he caught it going to the doctors. So my delicate immune system is trying very hard to clean everything. I don't think he understands my encouragement to get the master bedroom finished so that there is a spare room available as of course all efforts are ruined when you sleep next to a coughing sneezing sweaty thing all night. image

Still it'll be a good test of whether not being in my old job is making me stronger to fight things.

Going to try and dig some more of the garden today and get the lawn cut!

My sunflowers from the bird feeder are looking good!

I know what you mean, Clari. Identical conditions here His comment when I read out your post was "I don't know what she's talking about" image with a half smile

Pat I think one was a red admiral, (thats about the only one I know) the others were various sizes and shades of yellow/brown/grey probably sound quite boring, they did have pretty markings, but I was pleased to see them, along with the bees.

Thanks Nannyb. I'll look them up.

    Morning all.

It started off decidedly autumnal earlier but it's warming up nicely.

I went to bed before the meteors were visible so I missed the whole shebang.

Good to see you WW. I think my carpal tunnels are threatening so I'm trying to avoid aggravating them. Easier said than done. Rice and peas mmmmm.... I haven't had that since I was on honeymoon. Yum.

I never once caught a cold from my husband or my mum but if I even spoke to my dad on the phone I could catch it from him. image

I hope everyone feels better soon.

    Enjoy your Sunday.

Good to 'see' you Wonks. Keeping warm and dry when you work outside is never easy! Did Dove mention the Sealskinz socks to you? I don't know how good they would be for gardening in, but many walkers swear by them. They might be bit solid and rigid.

Could have done with a pair yesterday though as I trudged back over the soggy moorland bogfest... image

Hope the wrists aren't too painful Pp. Very unpleasant. In my bed early too so didn't see any meteors.

Lovely sunflower Clari. Just the thing for lifting the spirits.

Butterflies have been really thin on the ground here this year. Thin on the plants too...

A few red admirals and torties, but haven't seen any peacocks yet. They're usually quite plentiful by now. Been rubbish weather and conditions for them all though. I saw more butterflies on the summit of The Brack at the end of May than I've seen in the garden all summer! Red Admirals and Painted Ladies putting on a real display for me, and sunning themselves on the rock.

That really was a lovely evening image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
