I love my sprouts steamed ( in fact most of vegs steamed, even spuds) . I think the only vega I'm not very keen on are caulk - tasteless Without some green leaves.
whole cobs of corn steamed, then smeared with butter on the plate. Yum.
We stayed with my cousin who had a bunch of friends he met at Indian cookery class. They all went on to do the Chinese cookery course and some of them refused to ever go to a Vegetarian restaurant.
We went to one, Black Bo's, in Edinburgh. I think it's gone now and the food was sensational. I'm not a fan of pretend meat food. Quorn chicken? but I had the most fabulous veggy "haggis". I raved about it so much the waitress took me into the kitchen so I could thank the chef in person.
beautiful sunny day here and 28 degrees , just been for a walk around the countryside passing the summer dachas .......this place is like a ghost town in the winter ....not a soul in sight and covered in a thick blanket of snow
I have veggie haggis on Burns night. And neeps. My pal is from Edinburgh so we make her do it. She also made cranachan but had no recipe so that was a bit of a face twister but we persevered...out of politeness of course.
Afternoon, Lovely photos folks. Could have had a chat last night Hosta I finally went to bed at 3 and slept till 7. Firstborn and the family are back late tonight so I'll be able to see them all tomorrow.
Not sure what to do with myself today the weather is a bit hit and miss and I can't settle to do anything. I suspect a potter in the garden will happen at some point.
Been to the vide greniers in Moutiers which is absolutely heaving cos they have an old car ralley going o too. Roads all closed off and no way home so we had to cheat and go the wrong way down a one way.
Bit grey and mis between occasional warm sunny bits. Met the people who have bought our Belgian house under the Halles! Her pa has a holiday home in La Tranche which they use every August. Not getting tanned this year. They bought a 5 bedroom house with 2 full ensuites and a shower room between 2 so why have they put the twin girls in one bedroom and the two boys in another?
Amazing amounts of tat on sale and lots of frites at the food stands so all I bought was a galvanised watering can for 5€. it will become a feature. Got Possum to take pics of all the old cars. She's now lusting after a VW camper van.
Feeling cool so pizza for lunch then pottering indoors or out depending on what the clouds do.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
