We have a few of these around - always trying to get inside. So I have to gently capture them and set them free (the picture is a bit hazy as she is inside of a jar ready to be brought outside).
My husband took these pictures of a very unusual “translucent” moth
The second one is a swallow tail. The markings are a bit faded so it's probably lost a lot of its wing scales which is why it's gone a bit see-through. I'm not sure about that first one though. How big was it?
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Thank you @wild edges Not sure about the exact size of the grey one but I have just measured the height of the little plastic box it is photographed in, and it is 4.5cm, so the moth will probably be just under:
It’s not the first time one of those “dropped by”, I can take a better picture next time I have to bring one outside.
@Fire It's a bit hard to tell for sure but rabbit hutch spiders would be my guess https://www.naturespot.org.uk/species/rabbit-hutch-spider There's a whole group of comb footed spiders that look similar and all have variable markings so it's a bit of a nightmare to work out for sure.
