Here is a Ladybird, on patrol looking for aphids on one of the Honeysuckles.

  • Oh Sheps that is a beautiful picture, most of us love ladybirds which are in such short supply here this year, so to see one close up like this is a real treat. Thank you.

Thanks GD...I am lucky to have a few different types in the garden, I have been trying to photograph one of the small yellow and black ones, but have only managed one shot so far.
  • Hi All,
I’d like to share a very welcome Orange Tip which was devoted to my Red Campion in April this year for a few days.

The regular summer Hummingbird Hawkmoth on Red Valerian.

A gorgeous Elephant Hawkmoth my wife disturbed from the Honeysuckle last year.

    ...the Mullein moth caterpillars

    ...and the fine adult stage

Not bad for a iPhone 5s.
  • I love the pictures Russell, the orange tip really stands out, they are such interesting photos, what a diverse collection you have.
  •  Thanks Guernsey Donkey2
I really enjoy gardening for wildlife and attracting a new species or two every year. I got my first Redwing in March with the snow.
